Hey Guy's, Just doing a little leg work for a buddy. His truck is a 2000 F250 Stroke that's in need of new wheel bearing's on the front end. Any of you guy's know the torque spec of the castle nut on the spindle? Shocking to find out how much the bearing/hub assembly is to replace on that truck $317 per side from Ford. Even more expensive from auto parts stores. My 97 has manual 4x4 shift. His is electronic shift w/ servo. Must be why the big price difference?
Theres no spindle nut on these. Its a sealed unit bearing. Once you take the hub off, theres a snap ring on the axle, some little spacers. Then on the back side of the knuckle theres 4 nuts you remove, and its off. Its not the traditional two bearings on a spindle setup your 97 has. Generally when you get the new bearings, they 1 do not come with a new inner o ring seal, and you will have to swap over the 4 studs that hold the bearing to the knuckle. They usually come with new lug studs installed though.
