I was on my way home tonight, and I ran into a 05 F-250 C/C on the highway. I was just playing around, so I pass him like he was sitting still, and then he caught up with me, so I backed off a little to get him beside me and try to take off at the same time at 75 MPH, we gunned it together and I went about two car length ahead of him at 100 MPH and cannot go any faster (speed limiter) and then he blew by me, went on down the road and he stopped at the rest area so I pulled in to see what he was running on his truck. He said that he is running a SCT from Spartan Diesel set on "Basic Race". Sorry to bring this up, but what the world is going on? He said that he was on the floor.
No, not at all I was just curious about this, the main reason that I want an SCT is for the fuel mileage and better towing power. I did not not mean to humiliate Matt.
Let us know when you stomp it next time and your tranny lands on the highway or you blow the head gaskets. You're not going to gain much in the way of fuel mileage, but you will gain better throttle response and power for about the same fuel mileage. This is of course not considering the "new version" of the Ultra Highway Economy tune that is in the works.

Yes, you're right, it may increase the risk of blowing head gaskets, but I have a six-speed! ........Just kidding........but I really do have a manual tranny, I am waiting on my appointment to get my truck re-flashed before I take the Edge off. Then I will purchase some gauges and a SCT from Matt. Sometimes this winter...I am going to get headstuds and new gaskets put on my truck. Appreciate your input.
i dunno about not gaining milage unless matt's tunes dont help.... i get 13.1mpg stock and 17+ when running DJ's wild loony tune.
running the sct and a tune from someone that know's what there doing will not only turn the truck into a monstor but you will get better then stock milage.

he is also running a basic race tune with less timing, which is safer for a stock motor. i guarantee you if he had head studs and had matt crank that program up to 14 degrees timing with more fuel, you would have had your azz handed to you on a silver platter by that guy.
running an edge you are living on borrowed time.

What mileage are we looking at in the Ultra Hwy version...
I am considering selling the truck for a Dodge, cuz I hear you can tune it to over 21 mpg... I am stuck at 14 and HATE IT..

Are you talking 14 hwy, city, or combined? I just got back from a 800 mile trip and got 20.32 mpg hand calculated on the stock tune. Do you have a lift or larger tires? The dodge will get 21 without a tune but you have to look at a dashboard that's almost the same as my grandmothers 1990 plymouth shadow while getting your 21 mpg.

You won't hate it nearly as much as you'll hate that Dodge truck. Mileage is so subjective because there are so many variables involved. Give Matt a call and talk to him. He won't guarantee a specific mileage increase, but he'll do everything he can to help you get what you want.
He's in process of repairing some more of an UNNAMED vendors repairs and may not answer the phone, but definitely send him an email with what you're looking for.
