How do you clean a Dash Pad??

Hi Guys,

So I just bought a very nice used dash pad for my rig. I want to clean the vinyl really good in order to prep it for a fresh coat of Dye. what is the best way to clean it before spraying it with a color?? It is Black right now, but I want to go with a dark gray. Thank for your help.

Beast,
Ask your Body Shop Supply Jobber which prep sol is best for whatever dye you are going to use. That's what I do. AND Make sure the dye you get has a flex agent in it so the re-finish can "take & give" when touched. Brittle dyes get ugly qwik because they don't flex when forced.

BTW, Don't ask how I learned that about Flex Agents. . . .

I use Lacquer thinner to clean

and a Special Prep solution before dyeing

Tons of info in the appearance forum as I have answered this 50-60 times,

I also use the PREVAL spray system to apply the vinyl dye.
