I discovered that my truck has a 8 track in it So i went and bought one and popped it in. I could hear it humming and the fast forward worked but there wasnt any sound no pops or hissing or anything.
does anyone know how to fix these. Is there someone i could take it to or could i fix it myself?
I got it out opened it up. My dad showed me what everything was (he used to work on these things). THe rubber band is broken. and the capstan is dirty but those are the only things that seem to be wrong with it.
im going to need help putting it back in the truck. some washers and plates fell out and i didnt see where they came from.
I was going to go with a Ford factory AM/FM in my truck, but I think I'd like to find a ford 8-track, am/fm player for it. there is one on ebay now, but out of my price range (only cuz im broke) but them i also found stereo cassette tape to 8track adapters, and if i just get a cassette tape adapter, i can probably hook up my mp3 player to the old 8-track. so it shouldn't be a hindrance, just a neat little bit of history. and i can find some cool old 8-track albums. I think it would be neat.
I thought I was the only one with an 8 track left in his truck. Now I regret throwing all the tapes away. The cassette adapter I had for it got stolen at work shortly after I bought it. I think it is time to look for something decent to replace it.
I have an original FORD quadraphonic sound ...dealership 8-Tape tape for demonstrating the sound for Ford sound systems.
Be careful people because most of those 8-tracks that end up on E-Pray are actually for CARS... not trucks.
I believe it said it was for a galaxie or something, but will it not fit the truck properly? I'm not too concerned about being completly acurate about what should and shouldn't be in the truck, but it does resemble the trucks radio almost identical but it has the 8-track in it too.
But I do know what you mean about things being miss labeled.
