is there any difference in the diamerter of the pilot berring, compared to a 302 cause the one i got will not slide into the crank, but it fits perfeclty in the 302, i got the berring with a clutch set and i told them that it was for a 390, was there a difference in the crankshaft over certain years?
thanks
NATE
390's should use a bushing OD of about 1.850. 302's are 1.375. So actually a 302's bushing is much smaller than a 390's. Some pilot bushings are a 2-piece roller design; is it possible that the inner section is out but the outer still remains in the 390's crank?
Another possibility is that you are trying to put a 302's bushing into the 1.250 hole that is just behind(deeper into the crank) of the 1.850 hole that you should be using.
so what your saying is that the i have the incorect pilot berring and the pilot berring goes into the lage hole not the smaller one deeper into the crankshaft?
if thats the case i guess i will be running to the parts store
Thanks for the help
thats been bugging me for a while
THANKS
