code scanners
having tranny problems (see post down the way) and was thinking of buying my own code scanner to diagnose the problem. I don't want one of those junky ones that just reads codes, i want a good scanner. Can anyone recommend one that will work for reading the codes my tranny is setting off?

if you are looking for the best possible tool to use on your powerstroke diesel this is it, the ford NGS, The predecessor to the WDS, this was the ford dealerships prized possesion, since the introduction of the wds and the pda the price has dropped considerably, you can get updated cards programmed from your dealer, a very simple to use tool that will do anything from pull a code to program keys. this link is for the complete ngs kit, it will do all ford,mazda and lincolns, mercurys......blah blah, you can get them cheaper but this is the first link that came up, new is around 3000

ease or auto engenuity
i have an ease and it works great. i can do everything on my truck and see it all. i think the auto engenuity is a little better. both around 300 bucks. well worth it if your keeping your truck a long time.

yes ford enhanced is the key. mine works great. can do all the koer and koeo test the ngs can. along with all the codes. no some scan tool from the parts store wont work.
a snap on scan tool work also but i think there like 700.
