I doubt it, they usually wait 5-7 years between major updates. They will probably do a minor update around 2010 though, something like the simple front end/badge changes in 02 and 05.
I have heard that Ford is going to be making there own diesels in the new Mexican engine plant. So for 2010 or 2011 the SD will probably get a new bigger diesel (made by ford) as well as the F-150 getting a diesel.
Isn't there new EPA regulations taking effect in 2010? Which effectively dictates the manufacturers into new engines. Full redesign to go with it would make sense.
Perhaps EPA is good for something after all? Forcing new models sooner at least.
I think the 2010 regulations only cover off road diesel engines in construction equipment, farm implements, and such (as well as switching them over to ULSD). Then in 2012 Marine and Locomotive engines have to meet the regs and start using ULSD also.
2010 the EPA is putting limits on the NOx on heavy duty Diesels, I know it will effect mass transit buses and I believe it will affect the pick-up trucks also, this is all part of a series of steps to clean up the diesel motors.
Can you post a link on that mickelsons? It's not that I don't beleive you, it's just that I did a quick search before I made my earlier post and I couldn't find anything about stricter emissions for on road vehicles in 2010, just stuff about off highway engines.
I will look around for something, I am not sure where it is posted online, the reason I know is because I am a deisel engine mechanic trainer at a mass transit company and we are dealing with the new particulate traps and gearing up for the next level.
