I'm new on this forum and new to diesel trucks.
What would cause my glow plug light not to come on?
The first thing I checked was fuses which were all good.
Next I switched the glow plug relay. No help!
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Common failure on these are the glow plug relay, volt meter and see if it is passing power, glow plug wiring harness where it passes through the tappet covers or under the tappet covers. Could also be defective glowplugs but those would be the least likely. Test glow plugs by removing the connector and use an ohm meter. resistance should be under 1 ohm if good. Normal failure on the plugs is to burn open.
Thanks for the quick responses guys.
The plugs are new as of this last winter.
Also, I don't think it's just a bulb in the dash because the truck won't start unless I give her a small spritz of either.
Also, is that a voltage regulator on the inner fender near the Relay?
