First I must admit, I've been a Chevy guy for years. But soon I'll be driving a Ford. My wife's father was a die-hard Ford guy. About 12 years ago he picked up a '78 f-100 that had been a service station truck. Sadly he passed away 6 months before we got married. My mother-in-law kept the truck for about a year for sentimental reasons, then agreed to sell it to my sister-in-law's future in-laws. Well, the guy never paid a dime, and now three years later she has the truck back. Luckily the guy never drove it. The truck is in fantastic condition. Less than 100k miles. Just a little rust on the bed. It could use a paint job, due to peeling clear coat from 1995. My late father-in-law was an automotive interior engineer/designer. In fact we have a Plymouth Prowler seat he designed, as our computer desk chair. He spared no detail in the interior of the truck. He also made his own tonneau cover. I'll have to post some pics when I take posession. The reason for buying the truck is that my seven month old son will never know his Grandpa, but when he turns 18, the truck will be his. I plan on using it occasionally, and fixing any problems that may come along in the next 17 years. I've always thought it could be show worthy with a little work.
