I miss this section of FTE .. I use to have a 96 psd and i miss that truck and all of you help! I'm trying to find the right truck. I hate the TTB of the f250 but I don't think I can handle the ride of the 350... Superduty is out of the question for me, I like the OBS trucks alot more and can't afford to much. Would it be smart to get a f250 and do a SAS with the Rerver shackle kit? I know the 97 is the best year but what is a good range to look from? 95 - 97? or 94.5?
my 350 rides better than my 250 did. the rear springs are the same for both and the front springs for the 350 are actually thinner than the 250. I would buy the 350 and never another 250.
well if you want a reg cab long box I think those are 350's, neither came in an extended cab short box and the crew cab short box is mostly a 250 thing but there were a couple hundred 350's made as crew cab short boxes but they were mostly construction/industry trucks that have been used up by now.
as Cody said get what you want the rest can be modified!!!
I have never seen one of those! That would be nice in the woods. My truck is not so good in the woods! last time it got scratched up bad! and the stacks made for lots of brush in the bed!! sure wish I had my ranger still for that!
Ok I've started the long search.... I can find alot of nice trucks with 200,000 miles on them but I know some are taking care of and some arn't. That is a lot of test driving! 100,000 - 150,000 should be pretty safe right? =D
echo my 250 is pushing 300K and i think it is solid. I think the previous owner of whatever you buy will be more important than the odometer reading. In my case i brought at 220 and had to put some money into it, but i am very satisfied with what i ended up with for the total money i spent.
Are you guys saying the extended cab (SC) short box is rare? Is that the case for all the OBS PSD years or just 97? Here's my 96 w/ 5spd and 4.10s - LS rear. The camper shell is distracting from the fact that it's a short box.
I am not saying it is that rare but I hardly see them around here and never see one for sale. I believe the 5speeds are hard to find as well. I have a friend looking for one and he is patient which is good because he has been looking for awhile.
