I have a set of Goodyear ATS with 17" rims. They slip all over in the rain and ive had two flats with them. I think they are too round for me. What do u think of the BF goodrich's at terrains?
Ive currently have Goodyear Wrangler AT/S's on my '99 F-150.
I personally dont care for them. To me, they feel like they have a very "spongey" ride. Ive also found that on wet or snowy roads they dont have very good traction.
I owned a '99 Ford Ranger before I got my F-150, and it came with Firestone Wilderness AT's. I liked the Firestones. When I got the call from Ford to take my truck to the dealer to get the tires switched, I chose the Goodyear RT/S's.
It was very strange, when I had the Firestones, the Ranger rode great. But as soon as I drove it with the Goodyears, it had what I would call a very "spongey" feeling. Also, above 50 mph, the steering wheel had a very slight (but noticable) shake. The Goodyears on the F-150 I currently have do the same thing.
I'll probably be due for tires come next spring, and I think I will probably be buying Firestone RMTs. My brother has them on his '99 F-250 SD and that truck is unstoppable in the snow.
You can say what you want about Bridestone/Firestone, but I remember when I was a kid that we ALWAYS had Firestones on all our vehicles. We never had any problems with them.
Personally, I think the problems with tread seperation is due to underinflated tires or overloaded vehicles.
BFG AT's have sold me. I used to only put on Goodyears but after trying a set of the BFG's I was sold. Like previous posts have said, they go through snow really well. They also are a fairly stout tire and so you should have fewer flats
