360 head gasket??

360 head gasket??
I'm dropping a '70 360 with "69 390 heads into my truck. I got a pair of head gaskets with a large water port at the front of each cylinder. I have the same ports at the rear on my block and heads... Am I supposed to block them off with this gasket? If not, what kind of head gaskets do I need?

I have a 360 in my old Ford pickup and I am almost positive that when I last had the engine apart my head gaskets were just like yours, blocking off the rear water passage. I always use Fel-Pro gaskets when I put an engine back together. I would also check your old head bolts to make sure they are not stretched out. I think the bolts are really only good for a couple of uses and then you should replace them with new.
