Battery ground cable

Can someone tell me where the battery ground cable is supposed to attach (opposite the battery end)? There was not one on the truck when I got it.

It attaches via a bolt to your frame. Then there should be a woven copper ground strap from the frame to your engine (bellhousing bolt is a good spot, out of the way and all.)

Make sure the connection points are clean and free of rust, paint etc...

FWIW- the 65 and 66 trucks with the v-8 engines mounted right underneith the alternator to the engine block. it's quite a large bolt. 3/4 in head, sorry i cant say where the 6 cylindars mounted as all of mine are conversions. there is also a body gound wire in the back of the block by the throttle linkage that attaches to the firewall. The 240 & 300 sixes negative ground cable end are basically connected in the same location as the V-8's. I believe it's a 9/16 bolt head on them..
