01 7.3 tranny help
sometime when i pull up to a stoplight the off button on my shifter starts flashing, and acts like it takes off in 2 gear, sometimes when you put it into park the motor also revs up a little bit and then idles back down. i replaced the vss and it fixed it for 3 weeks and it back again, now something is also running the battery dead, any solutions? I took it to the tranny shop and he tried sayin the computer was bad but it runs and drives fine most of the time expect when it may want to take off in second instead of first

I'd go with the knowledgeable guys on here before I'd take the advise of a PROFESSIONAL! ;-))

I got $5 on the dreaded mechanical diode in the 01 tranny.... classic symptoms .... or it could just be low(or wrong type) of fluid.

i just got it back from the tranny shop , they said there was nothing wrong with the tranny, said it had a fault on the ecm. They couldnt get the truck to throw the oss code and the 1-2 shift fault again, something has been running my batteries down in about 5 hours. anyone have any ideas?

the tranny shop couldnt get the truck to throw the output speed senosor code, or the 1-2 shift fault code. I have been unhooking my batteries at night because something has been draining them down. The shop also told me that i had a fault in the ecm. dont know if thats true or not ? The truck is running fine other than the drain on the batteries while its sitting.
