Recently changed out the internal slave cylinder because it was leaking in the bell housing. It ran for 2 days just fine, moved it around the yard the other day and peddle went to floor. The resivior was dry so i filled it up and went to bleed it. When i was under the truck and my helper pumped the peddle i noticed that fluid was coming out of the bell housing again. I guess my question is that before i pull the tranny again has anyone ever heard of the connection going bad on the master cylinder side?
No i havn't. I put a new o-ring on there when i changed the slave cylinder will thos o-rings just blow out like that? Some times also when i push on the peddle half way down fluid sprays back out of the resivior. Any connnection there
You will normally get a squirt out of the master when you pump it. Obviously you are losing fluid, and it appears to be coming from the slave. I guess i would clean everything really well so it's all dry. Refill the master and cap it. Then have somebody work the pedal until you see where it's coming from. I know on my ZF there is an inspection hole under there so you can see the slave. Do you have this option?
Yeah i have that inspection hole. When those slave cylinders leak where do they develop the leak at. I tried looking through the hole and couldn't really see anything from the side or where the line goes through the bell housing at.
