Ford c6 Transmission

I have a 1990 Ford Pick up with a c6 transmission it has park, drive 1st and 2nd
it has no reverse what is the problem and how do i fix this. going down the road it shifts fine Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. You could have just a blown seal, or something could be broken inside, either way it needs to come out and be rebuilt. Trannies are one of the most difficult things to fix on a vehicle, but if you were going to rebuild an auto tranny for the first time, a C6 isn't a bad one with which to start. I've never done it, but I bet good tools and a very clean, dedicated work area are a must.

Not good. Could be sticking valve in valve body, defective rear clutch or front or rear bands defective or out of adjustment. Unless, of course, it is simply the shift linkage out of adjustment.
