I have a 75 highboy with a 390, and i was wanting to put headers on it. but i don't know what to buy, so i was hopeing i could get some imput on what i should or what would work. I want 1 3/4 primary tubes.
If you look at some previous threads on this subject you can see that the consensus is -spend a little extra to get something besides Dynojunk - I think for a 390 late model like yours you have at least 4 options. And by all means pay extra for the Cerama Coat - it will out last aluminized by 20 years and lowers engine room temps, and may make your starter last longer. My gallery has a pic of engine with ceram coat headers-they are however the Dynojunk ones, mine seemed to have sealed OK to the EBrock heads, but no miles yet to know for sure, I think 1 3/4 is std. but important to go to 3" exhaust, low restrict mufflers, and a H pipe crossover to balance it. Good Luck

I have the flowtech headers. They are cheap and probably won't last forever but they fit my edel heads perfectly. They also fit under the hood quite well. They have 1 3/4" primaries and 3" collectors. They cost 99 bucks at your local autozone. If you decide to buy them, put them on and see if you like the fit then if you want to make them last a long time have them ceramic coated. There are much higher quality headers out there if you want to spen a few hundred.
One other option is a pair of shorty headers. They are suposed to fit trucks and galaxies they are made by rod works or something Like that. I don't kow of any online place to view them, but once in a while thee are some on E-BAY. Look in ebay motors under exhaust and then under headers. they look like a good header. If I remeber right they have the htick mounting flange ( a must in my opinion). Hope this helps.
