how much is a front fender and passenger door going for on these things had a bobo over the weekend. i missed the cow but hit a tree. more like scraped the tree. and what years do those body parts interchange with trucks???? i only had the x since may, this is the fastest i ever got into a wreck with a vehicle ive owned. will post pics later when at home.
what about insurance? and any front door and fender for a 99-07 super duty and any year excursion would fit. andthe body shop might want to just reskin the door too. surely, it will be more than $1000.

wife went to a body shop they quoted 700 our deductable is 500.
for that price, i guarentee you that they are going to repair the door and fender. even if the door was that bad, they would most likely just skin the door. when i had my accident, the replaced my rr door assembly(the whole thing) and the rr 1/4 panel(which is like the entire side up to the roof rack). just the empty door shell was $657.52. the door molding was $270. the flare that goes over the wheel was $190, and the 1/4 panel and labor was about $2700 alone. so after the labor to install, prep, and paint, total cost of damage was over $8000. so, i dont think that there is that much damage that would warrant a new fender and door. especially if he entire job can be done for $700.

I just checked my computer and a new door skin is $563.42, shell is $677.25. 4.5 hrs body and 3.4 paint for shell. 6.0 hrs body and 2.4 paint for skin.
Racer is correct in what he says. The shop is gonna straighten it, wipe it and paint it.

yeah but i hate bondo, i like my metal not filler fenders and door.
the only way that you are gonna get a new door and new fender is if you pay for it yourself. your insurance company will never go for it. ever......oh, and sometimes, even brand new body parts get bondo. so you will have to loose the "i dont want bondo on my truck attitude." sorry, i used to be the exact same way as you. but its a fact of life, thats the way it works.
Speaking as an adjuster (ok, stop throwing things at your computer) if a part is repairable it gets repaired. The repair is only as good as the shop you use, so choose wisely.New cars often have filler on them directly from the factory. Also dealers can repair damages that occured in transport without disclosing to a buyer to a set dollar figure as designated by law.
There is truly nothing bad about filler if a competent person is using it and actually working the metal before applying it.
Keep in mind if you want new metal on your quarter panel you are having to cut out all your factory welds to put a new one on it. I would rather straighten a panel if it was mine.
I had a brain cramp and now realize your post said fender. Well that of course is a bolt on part but still would be repaired by a insurance company if possible.
You may call a local salvage yard and have them run any part your looking for on the locater and save some money. Buy the part yourself and take it to a shop, otherwise you will be charged a 25% or more markup by the body shop over what you could have also paid for the part from the yard.

You hate plastic filler but you buy a truck that the entire inside is plastic? geez even some of the engine is plastic.. its like a giant recycled plastic coke bottle...
