I don't get to make too many unloaded highway trips with my truck so I thought I'd post my mileage from recent trip I recently returned from. This was from northeastern WV to Columbus, OH doing 65/70mph with no load or trailer.
Got 14.3mpg on the trip to Columbus and 14.2mpg on the return. I'm usually around 11.5mpg for my drive to work so 14+ is nice to see from this 6800# pickup! I have 3.73s and stock height 32" tires.
I've owned 1/2 ton V8s were lucky to break 15mph highway. Our F150 5.4L with 3.73s gets a bit over 13mpg average and as high as 16mpg highway so no complaints about the V10's mileage from me!
I travel from Phoenix to Flagstaff frequently (about 140 miles) with an elevation gain of about 5000 feet. Running empty 70-75 MPH, I get about 12 going up and about 16.5 coming back with my best being 18. I also have 3.73's with stock tires. The best I ever got with my old 460 was 11.
I just got back from Upstate NY, and both ways, got over 16MPGs with about 1000lbs of camping gear and luggage in the back.
Have to go back over the receipts and figure the exact mileage, but in my head, it was doing well over 16MPGs. I might have broken 17 this time, we'll see...
I just checked mine from this past weekend and got 12.9 mpg. That's cruising down the highway 65-85 and cruising around town. Very happy with the mileage. tpepper
If I drive it with a high fun factor in the city I get 8.6 or so. Same route, driving gently I get 11.6. Towing my 8000 pound fifth wheel I get between 9 and 11.4 (best). Empty at 65 or s I get around 15. My F150 with the 4.6 only got 16.5 avg (I saved every fuel receipt for 3 years and had a running average) so I'm not complaining.
i get at 75 mph on the freeway on i-75 going up and coming back just over 16.5mpg with my 05 v10 with 4.30 gears unloaded, with my dirt bike in the bed and my two place trailer with 2 quads about 13mpg much better than my freinds f150 and a hell of alot better than my freinds hemi ram
You guys must have some really good gas where your at. I just did a 229 mile jaunt, 98% of that freeway at 65-70 mph and got 11.57 Must be the crummy CA. gas.
