Hey folks, I obviously hang out in the other section. Here's the problem. Wife says truck running rough like on washboard and no power. I am pretty sure this is going to be a plug (dam things), coil pack, or wire, and in that order.
No problem, get home from work a little while ago and try to hook up my AutoEnginuity and scan it and do a perdel test to find what cylinder is doing the dirt dive. Cannot get anything from the connector. Nothing. Hook it to my Crown Vic patrol car, bingo, I'm in. I know it works on the PSD too.
So, is there a fuse for this or has anyone else run into this? I am going to be pulling up the manual on DVD here in a few and see what I can find. I am not sure that is going to be covered there as you usually scan first. I am kinda in a hurry because I have to work tomorrow and she needs the truck.
TIA for any help. If this forum is like the one I hang out at, I should be in good shape. It is an 01 CC 2wd 4.6 auto with 70k on the clock.
Thanks anyway fellas. I found it with help from one of the guys on the other forum. Fuse #3. I don't have a manual for the F150. I can handle it from here. Take care.
OK, I am back. I know how I hate when folks don't post their fix in the forum I hang out at. Well the fuse fixed the OBD port. I had a miss that was intermittent. Mostly around 45 in OD and sometimes at idle. Pulled codes. Battery voltage low? 14 on my meter, two load test and it is fine. Had alt tested too and it passed, Duh, batt would be headed south but tested anyway. Get a recurring VSS error but I clear that and don't think that is my problem.
Now to the question, while I am having a time completing my OBDII drive cycle after resetting my PCM, I am having trouble monitoring the O2 sensors in real time. IIANM, there should be two banks but I cannot get bank two to output any thing but a flatline on the voltage or anything else.
OH, and I replaced all of the plugs and bench tested all eight coils so they are at least good there. Don't know how the coils are when they get hot so thought I would watch the O2 sensors and look for the stumble in the readings there.
You should be able to get live data form your computer for O2 sensor readings. If your not getting any voltage readings you should check out the sensor and wiring to make sure it is in good shape. If you have a bad o2 senor bank 2 should have some kind of code.
I believe it was p0503. What I am trying to do is watch both banks of the fuel system via the O2 sensors but only get bank one data. Nothing available on bank 2. No O2 error codes at all. Which side is bank 1 on the engine? Thanks.
Bank one is normally on the side of the # 1 cylinder. It is the bank that sticks out the farthest on the front of the engine. This is a V6 engine right? Lots of times you have more than one sensor on each bank.

No, 4.6 V-8. I am thinking bank one is passenger side if it is like any other Ford I have worked on. 1-3-5-7 on that side. I am trying to recreate the previous #7 misfire readout on the scanner as I believe this is my problem. Probably going to have to throw a new coil on that puppy.
For some reason I still cannot get my bank 2 O2 sensor to read out in live data in the O2 test window, but it reads in the general live data monitor???
