...we've been getting reamed on gas prices here in california for so long - that most of the state is now officially BI-sexual.
so naturally i was SHOCKED when i visited my local gas station recently and discovered that PREMIUM GAS HAD DROPPED TO $2.89/gal.!!!
it WAS up to $4.00/gal. about two months ago (had to cut my summer road trip short after i spent $400 for gas in 3 days)....so either 'the comet' REALLY IS coming OR they finally got tired of ripping us off and found a new puppy to torture...OR it was just out of the goodness of their heart.
I love living in Iowa, and I don't miss California at all. Well, I miss the mountains anyway.
Our gas has been at around $2.70 for a while. I burn E85 all the time, so I only pay about $2.40.
As one person I worked with put it, maybe the scenery is worth the extra money
Growing up in Santa Barbara I certainly thought so ...... but now that I'm married for 22 years and have three girls at home, girl watching has become just another liability for me!
....oh wait ... you were talking about the flora, not the fauna .......
boom baby, gas has been steady at 2.63 (87 OT) for a month, but suddenly jumped 10 cents because the state fair happened last week (held annually in my town) and the stations know they can make a killing with all the city folk coming through. i 'spect it to drop again within the week
2.89 here in Connecticut. I was working in mass all week end 2.65. Figure this. All western mass gas comes through from our shore. They pay less then we do in our own state. Messed up or what?
And dont forget hurricane Felix that is in South America today. That will be a reason for them to raise the price atleast $.30 by the end of the day. They'll take any reason to raise prices.
I paid $2.91/gal for premium last thursday, but it's going to have to go back below $2/gal before I start celebrating any. Everytime it goes up it does drop again, but never returns to what it was before and never below what it started out at.
Of course the politicians are gonna tell us there's no price gouging in the oil industry, which is exactly why I don't buy the bs.
