Smile First Ford Truck

Just got my first Ford truck yesterday ..A 1994 F-250 with the 460 in it..Only 123,000..miles on it ..inside real clean ...so I love it ..One question the tires look really small on it I'm sure they are stock ..Can they be replaced with bigger with out rubbing ?

I've heard a few guys saying 33 would fit, otherwise it should easily tuck a set of 31x10.5s.

welcome to fte by the way.

Great question!

I'm looking to upgrade my wheels/tires on my 89 F250 460.
I can't find much about what could fit or what size people prefer.
I don't want anything 'huge' or expensive.
Just some nice bigger tires on black rims.

I put 35's on my 250, just had to trim the lower part of the front bumper.

Hmmm
I'd rather not do any 'trimming' but now at least I know 35's are too big for me.

I've seen guys fit 33s on F250s with no lift, but you might rub a little bit on the leaf springs if you don't replace the wheels with a set that has the proper backspacing.

I've mentioned this elsewhere on the forum, but one of my friends is running 285/75/16s on his late grandpa's '95 F250 SuperCab ... they seem to do OK, but from my POV, I think they're a tad big. They're on the stock rims, too. I've not noticed any rubbing when I've driven it, but it's been a while. I will ask if it would help you out. Let me know.

I doubt this will help you on your tire size but I have 31's on my f150 at stock ride height on stock rims to and I dont rub nor did I have to trim anything to get them to fit.

My buddy has 33s on a stock height bronco with stock wheels and they clear the wells and bumper just fine, but they do rub on his traction bars at full lock, so I'm assuming that 33s on a F250 are going to have a very similar effect, they will clear the wells and bumper just fine but they are most likely going to rub the leaf springs without some new wheels with proper backspacing.

Let us not forget that bigger tires usually means you should install BIGGER BRAKES.
