P0455 code-evap cannister leak large
I have a 97 Expy with this code. My question is where is the cannister? I have 2 plastic boxes with a valve attached above the spare tire. The valve is rusty. There is a fitting connecting the 2 boxes and hoses running towards the front of the truck. Is this the cannister assy? The tray they sit on has rusted out and they flop around, I'm sure. How tight should the fittings be? They are rubber and look like "push-in" type. Thanks in advance.

Did this code come up right after getting gas? If so check your gas cap for being loose. Also if you leave running ehile filling up this code can be set. Otherwise check for broken hoses.

Found the problem. Gas station guy jammed the nozzle in hard or ripped it out hard and chipped the fill neck. Cap could not seal. Luckily the chip was still inside the fill door so I could glue it back on. Thanks shortbed for the reply.
