I am going to start a ground up resto on my 74 high boy, I have been gathering parts for some time now, dana 44 disc brake front and so on, I have a 460 block should I swap that in or just keep the 390 in there it is np 435 trans and a np205 transf.

Keep the 390. For the cost of the 460 swap, you can make it into 350-400 horse. And, it's 100 lbs lighter, it's already in the truck, it fits, your accessories fit, your radiator is right for it, you throttle linkage works, your exhaust doesn't exit into your steering box etc.....

depending on the year of the 460, if its a 68 to 72 and you have the motor and eccesories it might be worth it, parts are cheaper and it also has more hp 375 stock all you have to do is change motor mounts,tranny,maby your exhaust,and a few little other things, I cant quite remember, ive done it a while ogo and its defenetly worth it in my apinion.

The tranny is okay, but you'll need a different bellhousing one from a 460 or one from a 400 with a thin spacer for the clutch pack. You'll need custom mounts and exhaust and lots of patience.
I'd vote for keeping the FE, you can build a killer 390 for just a little more than a 460, and you don't have to spend several hundred dollars on swap components.
