Ok, I spend most of my time on the super duty forum since I own one, but my dad owns a 05 F-150 Lariat 4x4 5.4L auto with about 53,000 on it. It has 3.73 rear end. Well my dad gives me call and says he thinks his engine has a miss in it so; I go over take for a test drive to see if I can figure out what is wrong. While I'm test driving it, it starts to shutter when you stop, I can defiantly say it’s not a miss, I took the engine out with the windows rolled down and took her though the paces and the engine is fine. But any way its only when you come to a stop the whole truck starts to shutter, I'd almost say if feels like transmission related. I.e. torque converter, clutch something. I also noticed that after it does this and you release the brake the truck doesn't want to take off even though it's idling like normal, you actually have to push the gas before it will go. It also doesn't seem to be a braking issue the brakes seem to work just fine there not making any weird noises. The truck will even do it in park when the brakes are applied. It’s just very strange I've never seen a truck act like this. So if you guys can give my any suggestions on what to check, that would be helpful. I checked all the fluids and they all seem to be in order, transmission and engine oil look fine, smell like they normally should. I also check the brake and steering fluid and it's also fine. I have no check engine lights and when the truck does it's self test it says everthing is OK on the display. Thanks.
Everything was off including A/C, radio, heat/cold air, usually you have to drive a few miles before it does it so times it will do it out of the garage though. It all started about a week ago or so, it hasn't ever done it before a week ago. i hate this new trucks there's so much sound proofing crap you can't even tell what the car is doing from inside. At least my truck I can still hear what is going on.
