If you know how to download a torrent, the Ford service manuals are out there, or at least they were at one time. I found them to be rather helpful. Unfortunately I no longer have the link.

I would like to add to this!! Do you know what stall torque converter was put in it?
How much oil in the coolant? Just a sheen or globs? When was the oil changed last? When people say that their truck doesn't use oil I just laugh, All motors let some oil by the valve seats the oil control rings some is even vaporized and goes out the pcv, The reason the level doesn't change is because, unburnt fuel leakdown in the cylinders, Water buildup from condensation if you don't run the motor long enough and get it hot enough it just changes phase and sticks around then when it cools it precipatates back into the oil!
Lack of power we will have to figure out, How is the compression buy, rent or borrow a comp. tester and post the numbers! The slipping out of gear could be a sign of a too high stall convertor if you hold the brakes down hard and step on the throttle at what rpm's does the truck overcome the brakes?(brakes have to be decent)

Oil was changed last around the first of July, which means I've got another oil change coming here in a few weeks.

And it's a fairly nice amount of oil... Although to be fair, I haven't flushed my coolant system in 2 years, so that nice amount of oil is over 2 years of accumulation. I just recently added some 50/50 mix to the coolant tank (it was low).

The stall converter questions I'll answer either later tonite or tomorrow. I've gotta take the truck out to do some running for my mom, so I'll test the stall converter and let you guys know. As far as compression goes, I'll have to wait until Monday to be able to rent a compression tester, so I'll let you guys know how that goes.

And big, I have no idea what a torrent is. You'd have to show me the ropes on that one.
