Hello-new to forum. 1997 F150 2WD 4.2L 101,000 miles. The A/C does not blow. (Cold air does come through vents) When turn the fan switch with the A/C on we get a buzzing noise. Turn the headlights on and the noise stops. Directionals work good until the headlight switch is turned on. With the headlights on the dash panel directional signals light up (both of them) but directionals will not flash. Put direct power to the blower motor and the motor blows good. Have replaced the blower relay and the ignition switch. The buzzing noise changes as you turn the fan switch from low to high making me think the blower resistor and the fan speed switch are ok. The buzzing is comimg from the blower relay. Open to all comments, thoughts and suggestions. Thanks
Sounds like you've got a bad ground. Unfortunately, all my diagrams are on the other side of the state and I won't have access to them until late Monday.
With the diagrams, it's easy to look for common circuit elements.
I'd suggest looking at the grounds under the dash. There's a couple on each side under the side kick panels, IIRC. I don't think you'll find anything at the fuse blocks.
Steve- Thank you very much. Right side kick panel (G200) ground. Ground wire very bad. re-grouned and works great. Can't thank you enough. Son is very happy!
Body rot! We are in Florida but the truck was in Wisconson & Michigan most its life. The salt seems to have gotten to it. Took kick panel off and the problem was obvious.
Thanks again.
