Piston Rod bearings

What would happen if I use some bearings on my 400 crankshaft ( where the connecting rod meets the crankshaft on the pistons side) to raise its height? my engine has 8.7 to 1 compression ratio and has its original dished pistons, will this better my compression ratio ?

The reason for half shelling rod bearings is to get the bearing clearance right. Putting a .001 bearing half in is not going to make any difference in the compression ratio.

I know they come in half, but what if i put another sort of bearing or another half into the other side, wont it raise a bit the piston ?

are you saying use two bearing halves on the rod end and one bearing half on the cap end? that sounds like a quick way to cause some major bottom end damage

It wouldn't raise it any appreciable amount. Say your rod clearance was .0025, all you can do is put half of a .001 bearing in. Now the clearance would be .002. You have only moved the piston up .0005. TMI sells zero deck pistons & he is a sponser. Send him a pm. he can help.
