1999 hood latch question

i noticed on the wrecked 99 i am looking at, the hood didnt seem to want to latch. I figure it has sumthin to do with the fenders bein out of whack.(see gallery) Is the hood latch adjustable? What would one do to try and line things back up to latch? Are they adjustable? I am thinking if i buy it i will proably be able to figure it out, but I haven't really fooled with this type of thing much, so any tips or pointers appreciated..

later!! chris

There is a primary latch and a secondary latch. The primary latch is the one where you pull the cable, the secondary latch is the one on the front of the grill that you have to operate by hand to get the hood open.

Which ones work.

If its the secondary, then look for anything the hood latch is attached to being bent.

If it is the primary, then your cable might be pinched somewhere and is not releasing. Does the handle inside the cab retract when you pull it. If no, try pushing it back in and seeing what happens. Otherwise look at the hood latch, you may have to manually use a screwdriver to pull the latch back into place.

As far as adjustablity, I imagine a 3 foot prybar would work pretty good.

There are two bolts on the sides of the main latch you can move up and down!
