OK, Just did the foil delete mod tonight. Painted both the intercooler pipes too! Anyways, I read on here the multiple ways of removing the stubborn glue on these pipes from Carb Cleaner to WD-40. What I found to work the best was a spray on gasket remover made by Permatex. $6 for a can. This stuff just melted that glue instantly, and I just used a wire brush to remove it. Took about 20 mins/4-5 songs on the radio! Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I first tried the WD-40, and it was not nearly as easy. Hope this helps someone yet to do this mod.
I have used that stuff on everything from built up oil deposits to carbon on pistons & exhaust ports of 2-strokes to gaskets that it was made for and have had great results. It reminds me of some stuff call "aircraft remover" that was a paint remover for metals that you did not want to sand blast. Kind of sticky so it stays working on the stuff your trying to remove.

Absolutely! Say goodbuy to the clean wire brush! Worth it though.
