Hey all,
Bought a used Leer 100XL for my 2004 F250. I have the wiring harness and know where to route it, but I'm not sure which wire to tap into down at the trailer hookups. I have both the four pin and the big 7 pin setup.
Thanks for the help,
Will
I don't know if you have figured this out yet or not, but there is a wire specifically for this down by the trailer hookup. I think it is green but I can't remember for sure. It should have a tag on it that says CHMSL (Center High Mount Stop Light) or something like that.
Well, after some backyard electrical theory, I hooked it up to the lead line that powers the electric brakes and then grounded it to the common ground wire. I did all this on the four way flat plug figuring if I did somthing wrong, this would be easier to replace than the 7 way. Turns out it works. I couldn't find the CHMSL which you and the harness instructions mentioned.
Do you think my setup is a bad idea?
I just went out and looked at my truck. It is on the driver side in between the bumper and the spare tire. It is a green wire and it is taped to the outside of the black wire loom and has a white label on it that says Center High Mount Stop Light.
