Also curious as to why you're looking for new? I bought one out of a totalled truck and am currently putting it in my 2006 since the 2006 one has a hole in the side of it.

Not a sore subject. More a learning experience. It's been in my buddies shop for 2 weeks already and he still doesn't have the old one out. THAT'S the sore subject part, but I don't pay him his regular shop rate, so I don't say much.
Anyone know how much it would cost for a new 6.0 engine, including labor and engine?
Brand new engine--~$14,000. Labor probably around $2500-$3000 depending on the dealership. There are much cheaper options available. Where are you located hobbit?
Unless you burn one completely down I don't see a reason to buy a new engine since soooooo many of the parts are reusable and on the vast majority of these trucks they don't even get hurt in the major mechanical parts. It's mostly electronics and environmentals that take the beating, not the major hard parts.
I suppose they've come down quite a bit since the last time I heard, but 9500 is still a pretty good penny to pay. For $9500 I could overhaul my current motor and have a screamin' machine for sure.
6L - are you doing anything "special" to the 04 during the swap?
Swapping out the ARP Studs and the Return Regulated Fuel System. I'll be keeping the Precision Industry Torque Converter, FASS 150/150, Dieselsite Coolant Filter, Jobe Intake and the 4"DP to 5" Exhaust. Already sold off the NOS and Snow Stage III.
If they weren't damaged, I'll be selling off the Bean's Stage III Injectors (225cc) and I still have the 2004 Turbo I'm trying to sell.
6L PWR,
What are you going w/ as far as studs and fuel system? Just curious.
Ah, what? I'm keeping the ARP Studs and the Return Regulated Fuel System. The studs to curb any puking issues and the RRFS simply because I already have it, know that I'll need it again in the future and to protect the injectors on the back cylinders. Is that what you're asking?
