Question Mod order for us noobs??

Hey Guys, I have seen this question asked by us noobs in various forms and haven't been able to put it all together in a form I can understand. In what order (for those of us who are not wealthy) should the mods be performed? I did the free ones, EOT and 10k) but want to get maybe 400hp. I spoke with Dale at Tymar about exhaust but wasn't sure that was the first step. If I go with a 3x4 downtube, I need the whole exhaust. I have to keep something that looks like a cat to pass smog. I need the gauges. Is that first? If I want bigger injectors, I need a new turbo, right? Can I get the bigger turbo first or do I have to do the injectors at the same time? I guess somewhere in there I need a new pump. I want to phase it in to ease the pain on the budget and the pain from the wife. Can you experts help simplify the mod order? I would love to see a simple tech article. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confused in Vegas
Jeff

ok here we go... for around 400 horsies

-intake and at least 3" downpipe and 4" exhaust
-guages(boost and pyro for manual and boost, pyro, and tranny temp for auto)
-if auto, get a better tranny and tranny cooler.
-if manual, get a clutch from val-air or southbend that will handle the power
-good intercooler
-diy stage 1's or diy stage 2 injectors
-good chip from dp-tuner or tony wildman burned for which ever injectors you get.
-super duty HPOP to try to prevent cel
-maybe a d66 turbo, but that may put you over 400 horses. not too sure though.

that's a pretty good start. someone will chime in for anything i may have missed or even some different suggestions. hope this helps some

my order would be
pre-1-big trans cooler
1- get gauges
2- exhaust- for cat use a dummy in your case
3- intake- 6637 from napa(check my webshots pictures)
4- chip it- tony wildman
5-intercooler- 6.0 or 7.3
6-injectors-stage 2
7-hpop- from a superduty
8(optional) d66 turbo

with all that 400 should be no problem at all on a bad dyno day
