Thought mine was a torque conv. but ended up being a cracked flexplate.Its hard to see the cracks because theyre hidden by the collor that mounts over the flexplate(between the bolts and the flexplate) The cracks just go from bolt hole to bolt hole try and bend your flexplate back and forth to see if you can see any movement or hear any noise maybe like a little clicking
Check the oil pan for dents. My 93 had a knock and it turned out to be a dented oil pan. Seems the pck-up tube is close to the bottom of the pan and if dented has a hard time picking up oil.
