George,

Here is a 'snorkel' as installed on a Hummer...this accessory allows the motor to breath while crossing deep water ways...

I wouldn't see why not, it is just an air intake, although some have lines for the axles and transmission.

Someone told me that the gas engine wasn't as tightly sealed as a diesel or something but that didn't make sense to me.

If water can get it, pressure can get out and that would screw up the compression wouldn't it?

Hybrids, pay attention, I know ANOTHER auto related word, COMPRESSION!

A snorkel can be used on any type of engine. Doesnt matter if it is diesel or diesel. Tell that guy he is a moron

Water should not get into a gas engine easier than a diesel. The air intake is the issue- thus the snorkel. Nothing more fun than hydrolock! All these kids with aftermarket cold air intakes along the bottom of their rice burner engines can't understand what happened when they drive through a decent puddle. Oops, call insurance.

Hehehe, cool

Matt, I would but don't remember who it was

Remember what we talked about earlier? See? I don't go around telling people stuff if I don't KNOW it's true. People love just repeating stuff...geez
