I have been getting a shudder in the driveline someplace for a few thousand miles now. I have a 7.3 with a 4R100 CC LB 4x4. I replaced the tranny with a built unit and triple plate convertor about 1.5 years ago. Changed all fluids at that time also. I use royal purple in the all but the engine. I run 285 bfgs and they have been balance three times.
I thought it may have been in the driveshaft. Had that serviced today. some new joints, pillow block and a rebalancing. Still have the problem.
Not sure what to think. It comes in around 40 - 50 mph mostly on decelleration but sometimes on acelleration too. Lately I can even feel it around higher speeds also.
The engine is in top shape. All injectors firing.
Getting stumped.
I am thinking it may be just the limited slip acting up? Do you need a friction modifier with it?
Those items have been checked and ruled out. Sorry to not have mentioned that. Plus it has been going on for lon enough that something woudl have broken or burned up if it were one of those componets.
Has anyone ever had a balance issue at the convertor and flywheel?
Give these guys a call, one of the Best driveline shops I know of....
