Me too.. I can't see how you would gain any more power using stacks. You would acheive the same results if you ran 4 or 6inch piping under the vehicle.

Exactly. In fact, at a certain point, your exhaust velocity slows down too much, and you in fact lose power.

idk, somethin about them makes u have more or about the same power as running a pipe underneath, i just read about it in a buddies truck magazine. couldnt tell you which one or issue, but it was on a Ford 6.0 diesel that had astage 2 twin turbos and suped up injectors. he got 31 extra horses cuz of them

If they give you so much more power and it would cost roughly the same as a header back system or cat back....why wouldnt they offer them in kits such as the ones offered by Banks, etc? Everyone always wants more power for zero money..

But was this strictly due to a stack swap? Was this compared to the stock system in place, or an existing aftermarket setup? I am all for more power, and claims of how to get it... but I am a facts man. Without them, its all hearsay.

Honestly I'm not really worried about how much horsepower I would gain...I just flat out like the way they look. Call it redneck...I call it hill billy deluxe. I am thinking black powder coated pipe would fit the bill. Also, to cure the velocity issue I was going to run a smaller diameter pipe through each stack.

i say with stacks all the smaller cars dont taste the diesel smoke. and for gassers that go mudding it keeps the pipe tips out of the water just in caes ur in 3feet of water and the truck dies say (a chevy) lol.

hey they all die in 3 feet of water trust me ford distributors aren't any more waterproof LOL. but being in the front they do have an edge in my opinion, easier to protect.

i figure that after my 302-460 swap i'l do somesort of stack setup simply because of the amount of deep water/mud offroading i do. i dont see a problem with it as long as its for a purpose.
same deal with snorkles you see on every teenage owned yota out there, damn ugly, but effective. to bad those kids have never been through anything deeper than a mud puddle...
