My serpentine belts (dual alternator) have been sqweeking for a couple months now. From what I can see without removing the fan guard, the belt looks to be in good condition. Since I can not see nor feel any cracks, is there a fix for my belts?
Since the truck is at 50k miles, is this a normal time frame for a belt replacement? If so, has someone documented it yet, or is it just a tensioner that needs to be loosened? Should I just replace both?
If you'll check the tech folder I think there is a TSB for squeaking belts and what to do to fix it. I have almost 100K on my original belt with a groove cut in it from a hose clamp and I'm still running it cause I don't wanna fight that monster putting it on. I have a spare belt here just in case though cause not everyone carries it in stock.
