Question Double Din mounting hardware

I know that a double din radio will fit in a 2004 and older with just trimming the upper and lower ends. I know best-kits makes the conversion kit to double din but I was wondering if anyone knows what kit will work on a 2004 f250 that is available locally like at Bestbuy etc. I ordered the best-kits but it wont be here by the weekend. I heard that the MAethra kit FOR-204-99BL will work but circity city will not sell me it because they say it will not work. Now my question is, is there an kit available for say an explorer that will bolt up to my f250. I have searched but can't seem to find the part numbers that I need. Thanks in advance Jon

They won't sell it to you??
That is the dumbest thing I've heard (not you, the store).
If they ask, just tell them it's for your girlfriends Mountaineer....

The guy at circut sity is an arrogant ********. He told me that he has been installing radio's for 25 years(yet hes prolly 32-35 years old) and that a 2004 f250 will not and never will fit a double din head unit. He said he wouldnt sell it to me because he didnt want have to restock it tommorow when I return it. Will a 2 din radio mounting for an explorer bolt directly to my f250. I have a new toy and cannot wait until the correct parts arrive next wensday. I want it in there now lol

I cant rember what it is I believe it is an alpine. My brother decided he wanted a flip out after 2 weeks of having the double din and was gonna throw his old one away. I swiftly rescued it from the trashcan and plan to transplant it into my f250.

It comes with one trim ring that fits a double din, and one trim ring that fits two single din radios. I had to modify the kit somewhat to get it to work with my Kenwood DDX6019. The double din trim ring would not fit around my head unit. The corners were too rounded. I ended up having to make my own trim ring out of the stuff Kenwood provided with the radio. I just used the two side pieces to mount the radio to the dash panel.

So be aware that you might have to do that for yours also.
