The headlight covers on my 04 are starting to get a bit pitted. Only a few gravel roads but that must have done it. Anyone else noticed this? Wondering if there is a plastic polish to clean this up?

I fabricate with acrylic often and have found NOVUS to be the best
product. You use it in three steps, heavy scratch remover, fine, clean
and shine. It goes on like a wax and works best with a microfiber cloth.
You should be able to find it at a local sign shop that works with plastics
or a glass shop. It comes in 2oz up to gallons. For your headlights the
2oz bottles would be plenty.
By headlight cover do you mean the headlight housing? If so, I wet sand them. I start off with a 600/800 grit or so, then move to 1000/1500 grit then finish with 2000 grit. Then I use Meguires Plastix and polish it a few times. They look brand new when done. Have done it to multiple vehicles and works well. Gets rid of oxidation etc..
I appreciate the ideas. I have varius grades of superfine sandpaper so I guess I will give that the first try. Hope the plastic can handle me sanding it down every few years.

Once they're polished up again, you could buy and install a clear mask kit on them. It takes a bit of learning to install, but the headlights were probably the easiest thing to do on the truck other than the fog lights. If it's your first time installing the stuff, I'd suggest buying the pre-cut kit and some uncut material so you can re-cut the pieces if you screw it up. Don't ask how I know.
Search for "scotchgard film" or "paint protection film" and you'll see that it seems like everybody and their brother is offering the stuff these days.
There are probably installers in your area that you can have quote the job too. The guys in my area get a pretty penny for the stuff, so I decided to learn how to do it myself.
