Last year I replaced the rear brakes on my 97 F250 LD 4x4. It was a struggle to say the least. I managed though. Lately Ive noticed some metallic scraping noise coming from the rear wheels. I finally bit the bullet and took the rear tires off and removed the drums. Theres a Thin cable in there(Im guessing its the self adjuster cable),well its come off and the ends have been rubbing. Questions I have concerning this:
How serious of a problem is this? Seems my rear brakes arent even making contact with the drums,so now I only have front brakes.Luckily the drums didnt get too beat up (if at all)
Can the cables on each side be purchased aftermarket,or is it a dealer item. Anyone have a part number?
