Well I think I like them banks headers a little better. What do you think. I called them, the said it was $950 for just the headers. I like the banks because there is no gaskets, and there warratied for life, which is sweet. I do have EGR, I know i do because the dealer made me replace my EGR tube in my manifold.

Any production flaws like weld splatter, sharp edges, small alignment problems with ports or bolt holes will come sealed with ceramic ordered that way.
With raw orderd Thorley's all the above problems were corrected then coated in and out at my expense but they are port matched to the heads and detailed.

Go with the Banks then. $950 is less than the thorley's and the Banks are Stainless. You won't have to get them coated, although you could if you wanted to. Thats not a bad price eaither.

Many guys here at FTE have Banks header and they like them.

Hmm.

Thats a tough decision.

I like stainless, but if the $650 is for the Ceramic Coated Thorley's I'd probably go that route.

If the Thorleys coating ever peels or rust up down the road you could always have them recoated.

yeah i agree, and it to also has a 2 1/2 inch collector which will be nice. I guess the only thing i really get turned on about the banks is: stainless, no gaskets, life time warranty. The Doug Thorleys are life time warranty as well, but they use the gaskets, which i hate but for that price, you cant go wrong. I wish i could find some on ebay....

You should never have problems with the gaskets.

I have a set of cheapy Dynomax headers on my 74' F-100 302 for over 7 years now. Never leaked except when a bolt came loose. (Locking header bolts fixed that) Those were the cheap gaskets that came with the headers.

I don't think you could go wrong with either header. Actually I prefer the gaskets because it give some room for expansion and contraction without leaking and is more forgiving. Gaskets aren't a bad thing in my book. I would just get a good set of locking header bolts so they stay put.

Make sure to post some pics of your shiny new headers.

Talking

ya them stainless headers r nice, but Banks to me doesnt sound as bad *** as the doug thorley. I think the thorleys are strictly off road, i think tri-y is strictly off road, i may be wrong, but i think that the thorley will give me more horsepower, for less $$$$$$$, and most of all that extra burst of horsepower i have been craving since i got the true dual. $640 tho, thats gunna take a cupple weeks

$640 ain't that bad. The JBA SS Tit. Ceramic headers for my V10 are $850. Banks wants $1200 for headers and y-pipe for the V10.

The Banks are Tri-Ys also. For the money I think the Thorley's are hard to beat.

Be nice now. Sounds like you had a bad deal with them. No need to get personal. I have never had a problem with them. They didn't take my money. I sent it to them. There are flaws in any part you buy. I have bought Hooker Super Comps for a car had to send them back. I have had problems with Doug Thorley headers. Flow tech's, problems... I guess it just boils down to customer service. Sucks they gave you such a hard time. I haven't had to deal with them with a problem.

One last header. I have heard good things about these. Some of the guys in the 460 forum use these. http://www.landlproducts.com/list.as...cID=4&scID=117

I'm not sure if they have them for your specific application. Good luck.

How could I have flaws as the headers were special ordered in the raw no chrome, paint or ceramic coating.
They were sent out clean and smooth ready to get coated, come back with collector flanges engraved destroying the sealing ability besides I had to pay shipping 3 times to them. The shop foreman sounded like some kind of swamp gator, it was hard to understand his backwards english. Justin Wilson the old cook would of had perfect english compaired to this shop foreman. Hell he couldn't see the flaws when a picture was included in the returns.
Nothing personal here just stating the bad experience I went thru so others do not get burned like I did. Still stands, Jet Hot is "F"ed Up.

Lmao dude. It's all good. What I meant by flaws was. I have ordered headers. Just one exhaust example here...Like $$$$ Super comps... I get ready to bolt in the LAST header bolt and guess what? The F#$%^** hole is about 5/8" off. Talk about upset. Remove TWO headers. Send them back. Nice thing was. Jegs gave me a $25.00 coupon. You know... Whatever... It was something though.
