223 Flywheel on a 292?
Hi,
I am taking out a bad 223 and installing a 292 into my 60 F100, 3 speed. The 223 flywheel bolts up to the 292 crank and I want to know if it can be used or if I will encounter other problems.

Gary, wish I could answer your question directly, but cant. However, if all 6 of the bolts match up, and the same number of teeth are on the 223 and Y flywheel, it has to be the same flywheel, Dont remember for sure but think the Y's are 153 teeth. If someone else hasnt given the tooth count already, I'll count them out and post the result tomorrow.

Thanks folks. That will save me some time and money. I did notice that the 223 flywheel is only drilled for a 10 inch clutch and I read somewhere that the 292 had a 10.5 to 11 inch clutch. Since I am not going to be hauling anything, I suppose the 10 inch will be ok. Possibly I can get it drilled for a 10.5 inch clutch, looks like it is big enough.
