if you're legit, I appologize.

if not, then please **** off and go back to the Toyota forums. we're not here to candy coat, but when you have 7 posts and 6 of them are of problems, well it's kinda hard to take ya seriously. people have issues, but very very few jump onto a website forum and "spread the love" when an issue exists and nothing else

btw, how is the tps recalibration going?

Yeah sorry about all the bitching... I'm a forum kind of guy (member of about 8). My home away from home is tlzone.net and tlplanet.com -my other ride is a TL1000R street bike. I am a very active contributor there. Hopefully I can do the same over here.

Anyway I'm glad you guys came back like that i would have been concerned if no one stood up for the truck...

TPS -I looked at http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/?p=30 and only found the voltages at the bottom. I assume you the steps are;

1) Get the truck to running temp
2) Check the voltage with throttle closed -if it needs adjusting keep going
3) Loosen TPS screws
4) Tap the TPS to change its position slightly
5) Rev the engine a little between taps
6) Let RPMs settle & take reading -if reading is off go back to step 4

Sound right?

I would like to know how your adjustments work also. The dealer continues to give me the run around also. The young walmart greeter, that meets you with a cup of coffee as you bring in your truck, noticed the rough idle in park right away. Left it with the dealer for 3 Friggin' days. Then comes the wonderful news,"Sorry sir, we can't seem to duplicate the problem". Now when he gets in as I pick up the truck, he says,"See no missing in park." Meanwhile my bottle of water is doing it's impression of the glass of water on Jurassic Park. He then says he still can't feel a thing.

That is why I love my 72 F-100. If it runs like a soup sandwich, it is my fault. I still enjoy my 04 STX, but man I wish I could just get ride of the rough Idle.

'04 F-150 long box for work, 4.6, only 30K, has run perfectly, a delight I look forward to driving, smooth long wheelbase ride, quiet....and then last week, at 38 mph, almost home, a slight vibration noticed first in the steering wheel. Next, I thought the motor was running rough, I panicked thinking a coil pack may be smoking and a plug may next blow through the hood!

I rolled into the drive, opened the hood, saw or heard no blow-by at the coilpacks.

Turned it off, turned it on, drove around the block, nothing.

Now today, the same thing happened, exactly the same way. Initial steering vibration, followed by the motor clearly running roughly, getting worse, just before I pulled to a stop. Re-started again, drove around the block, nothing.

Can't wait till tomorrow to see if I make it home again.

It's been two days, and I just figured out what the rough running condition was from two days ago! And it pays to analyze with a clear head before jumping to incorrect conclusions.

This morning, same condition, vibration getting progressively worse, even as I slowed, but the motor seemed to be running fine, I was thinking maybe clutches in the limited slip???

Pulled into garage, and vuella, the rear discs were very hot to the touch, very, in fact, I could smell brake linings! I think my emergency brake cables are stuck!

I wouldn't have thought for a minute that this would not work after only 30K.

I guess I'll jack it up and have a look, pull a wheel, whatever. Has this happened to anyone else? Later, Bob
