Good Guys, Pleasanton

We need to start thinking now about another event. Last fall Jag Red and I went to Pleasanton for the Good Guys show and failed to hook up. I propose we try it again, hopefully with better Chapter participation. The ice has been broken and we know we all like each other's company and can actually stand one another for at least a few hours at a time...

So with this in mind, there's another Good Guys meet scheduled for Nov. 10/11. I think it would be great if we could plan on meeting up there for one of those days, possibly even bring our trucks as a group (they don't have to be show quality judging by what I saw there last year.)

There was a pretty good swap meet and a number of interesting cars and trucks for sale. Here's a link to a site with a little more info:

http://cokertire.com/page/shows/good...n-ca-nov-10-11

So who would be up for this, and what would be a better day for everyone, Saturday or Sunday?

I'm in.

There was a Hot August Nights in Pleasanton this weekend I think ... but, passed on it for BBQ and other things I had to do around the house here.

It would be great to go through all the cars with our group of good guys.

Either day would be okay for me, I'm only an hour or so away.

Saturday the 10th would be good for me. I'm about two hours away. We would just need a rally point to meet at. Maybe the Hooters poster stand? Jag

I would be up for something like that. Doesn't matter which day I would need to take the day off from work no matter which day we choose.

I do like the caravan idea of all our Fords arriving at the same time.

I've been lurking around here for a long time, but it's time to come out of the garage! I can make it either Saturday or Sunday. I might even have the '56 running again by then.

Mmmm... Hooters Poster Stand....

hey just to let everyone know, i am off the whole weekend, family and i will be going. any chance we can get a group rate at a nearby hotel, maybe under nor cal fte chapter or something. it would be great if we can get a caravan rolling down the highway, so all other drivers can see our trucks and who knows maybe some will follow.

You better look into that now. I think Residence Inn Livermore has some good weekend specials. Not, sure if they have it for that weekend. Has been $69-79 in the past for their weekend rate. Check with them on AAA rate as well if you have a card.

I wish I have the room for ya all. I have a very small place so it wouldn't work for us.

The county has some camp spots available - clean and cheap. But it is so close - about 3 hours from Fresno - I don't see the need for going up the night before.

I think some were thinking about making a weekend of it, especially if we decide to show our trucks. Don't know what's involved if we want to do that, just show up and pay the entrance fee to show or if we need to make reservations (or something like that... )

I think you have to call them and ask for a corral. I think there is a slight charge $40 for them to rope off an area near the cars for sale. If you want a corral inside the show our trucks had better be something really nice. Mine is not worthy of that at all. It's not like your local meet in that regard. However, they will give us a place to group our cars together and throw out a lawn chair or two under the trees in the regular parking close to the cars for sale I think. Or, we could just find a place a little further out and just do it with the idea we're not showing off our cars just tailgating.
