Finally found the bucking problem in drive

About a month ago the Bronco felt like it had a little mis in drive. So I tuned it up with no change. Checked gas for water, good fuel pressure, cleaned mass air, throttle body. Bucking was continually getting worse. Checked engine for codes, checked all sensors with the computer that the Ford dealerships use, all sensors sat. even took it to a friend that works on transmissions to see it was the trans, or torque converter. By now the bucking has gotten real bad. Later that day I found the problem, when the traction loc broken in half. It was strange it would only buck in drive and overdrive. I believe one side of the posi. broke causing it to bind the clutches when the posi. would flex.

wow, I haven't seen an 8.8 do that before. I don't have a lot of off road experience but have seen several mustangs in the 8's that didn't shatter a T-loc.

My Bronco doesn't go off road unless I've got a very good reason to do so.

my rear axle did the same thing. i bought it and it sat for a couple weeks while i was out of town. when i came back, it started popping in corners. it did that for about a week, and then i was driving and it lurched back and forth 3 times, then stopped. when we got it apart, everything inside fell out into the drain funnel. the third member was in little pieces. i had a used one rebuilt because the pieces gouged into the axle housing. wish i had pix, it was BAD
