what is causing the high rev sound
What is the high revving sound (coming from under the hood from the best I can tell )that comes and goes . It only seems to do it when the air conditioning is on and it is hot outside. It lasts for about 10 to 20 seconds before it quits. There is no specific time before it does it again but it comes and goes multiple times.I have an '06 F-250 but my '05 F-150 also did it. The RPM's do not change and it does'nt appear the temperature guages are changing. It does not matter if I am pulling a trailer or not. It will do it even just driving in town. I thought I heard someone talk about there truck doing it and said it was a transmission fan. Can anyone help me.
