So where inlies the problem in this so called cheap part? could it be anything else..? what else is this based upon...i am not just going to go and buy the relay again....
Have you checked your starter? Maybe your starter is starting to go bad is pulling to many amps and that is what is burning up th contacts in your relay.
When The S terminal receive 12 volts of power from the ignition switch that in turn trips the metal contact over to allow the Extreme Voltage of the battery to run dirtectly to the starter thru the relay lug via the starter cable.
That trip metal contact is made of inferior metal and in some cases like your will only handle a few attempts of Relaying the current.
One user on here cut one open to see what was inside and he was quite un-impressed.
Buy a Name Brand American or Canadian part and never look back.
Try a Farm store that sells Tractor parts.
Even a Motorcraft replacement is better than the cheapo ones.
what might cause it to burn up over and over again..it hasn't gotten off the trailer yet...
Sounds like a very high starter draw, can you check for boltage drop and amp draw? It the engine to frame or battery good. Excess resistance will cause a build up of heat very fast during cranking. Was it running when you put it on the trailer?
I have since replaced the ignition and the ignition module. No change in problem..Went on to replace the negative and positive battery cables, wire wheeled all ground points to assure a definent contact, and replaced all ground cables-frame to engine, body to engine, and also altenator to engine ground. also a new cable from relay to starter.
No change in problem.....
I am thinking it might be the starter going bad..but it was a pretty new last i can remember..maybe was used 4 times, before it went in to the shop that left me holdin the bag....

I have since replaced with an ecklen..NAPAs Premium relay..nascar offical if that floats your boat...
i didn't even get the flex plate to turn on rev after replacing..moving on to starter.... if it is not the starter and all grounds are good..where would someone suggest the next stop on the line would be
on the altenator there are four wires conecting...one ground to engine, one power to relay.. where do the other two go and how do i figure where they attatch to the altenator
Sounds to me like something isnt wired right or maybe the motor is stuck and the starter is drawing too many amps trying to turn a flywheel that wont budge.
