I have a 2000 Ranger 3.0 V6 w/89000 miles.
Truck runs great has gotten oil changes every 3000 miles, tune-ups as needed. With this hot/humid weather back east I tried to use the A/c and all it does is blow hot air.
I'm sure the freon (or whatever its called nowadays) is gone (possibly leaked out) any suggestions?
Probably just a bit low buy a can with the gauge on it and dump some in! You could try putting a jumper on the low pressure switch just to diagnose it if the compreesor comes on it is just low DO NOT run it like this for very long!!!
I would also suggest adding some coolant. I had a similar issue in my '94 3.0l ranger about 3 years ago. I put in some coolant (forget how much) and the A/C can now freeze me out of the cab. Thats whats nice about a small cab... you need less A/C to cool it off!
