4.2l with 40 series flowmaster
Hey everyone, this is my first time on here and was wondering if someone could tell me if it is worth the money to put a 40series flowmaster on a 4.2 v6. Would i be better off to go with just replacing the stock muffler or should i get a (1 inlet, 2 outlet) and run the pipes out the back? The truck is stock right now.

ok thanx guys, maybe i will save my money for some other mods. What are some good bang for the buck mods for this truck. Mines a 5 speed, shortbox, flareside and it only weights 4000 pounds so its not gutless off the line(chirps going into second)but more power is always nice. I was thinking about a poweraid throttle body spacer. Wouldnt this be better on a truck that had tbi? My 2000 has multiport doesnt it? Does anyone sell gear drives for the 4.2?

Ok.. 40 series or even the single chamber is not loud on our 4.2's. I drive my truck with no muffler at all w/ factory cats. It's still not loud enough. You'll be happy with a flowmaster although I do not recommend them. I perfer the sound of Magnaflow or Borla on our 4.2's. Even MAC mufflers sound good.
Don't waste your money on a spacer... this I'm tellin ya.
btw, My truck weighs 3,905 with me in it and I chirp 3rd hard.
